Theodora Alcyon (1988) is a contemporary French-born multidisciplinary artist. She first began painting at the age of seven, observing nature with a French painter, then after studying philosophy and anthropology at the university, she gradually focused on her artistic work. Whether it's her research into abstract painting, her experiments with her embroidered poetry on painted fabric, or her photographs, her aim is always to reflect her radically animist relationship with the world. Among the various metaphorical tools and questions that accompany her work, the need to connect/reconnect with the whole of what lives - embodied or not - is a recurring theme. The act of painting and the pieces that emerge from it are experienced as an invitation into what Theodora calls Spirits Timespace. It's a question of inventing a place where one can feel a sense of community and experience the embrace with the intangible and radical Otherness. At heart, her work is the sharing of a quest for a healing sense of belonging to the Earth.
