Rosa Arango’s body of work centers on narration. Her paintings, engravings, and drawings delve into thematics around witchcraft, ancient and contemporary alike. She investigates heterodox beliefs, systems, and practices within the history of the Western esoteric tradition to examine and challenge the dominant narratives of our society. Seeking alternatives that question the status quo is, for her, a form of resistance: resistance to norms, hegemony, and supremacy. She is fascinated by liminal spaces within the occult, which probes the frontier between the visible world and what lies beyond perception.
