Sophia Ponté (b. 1996, London) is a painter and printmaker based in Dorset, England. Her paintings serve both as a diaristic account of her observations and as an invitation for us to consider our place within the natural world. Frequent walks spent observing and recording local environments are the starting point, from which paintings are then developed in an intuitive exploration of colour and form. Her paintings do not seek to impose beauty or meaning but reveal the inherent value of what simply is.
