Aster Seeds

Julie Purther, a self-taught artist based in Michigan, explores the spontaneity of the creative process. Taking inspiration from the world around her, she intuitively builds abstract compositions from a chosen color palette constructed with materials like handmade paper, watercolors, acrylics, and oil pastels. Through gestural brushstrokes , organic flow, and color, she excavates her memories, experiences, and emotions in visual catharsis. Reflecting on nature, motherhood, resilience, and imperfection, she exposes our inner conflict to balance chaos and control.
